About the Show

The WSU Cougars podcast built by Cougs fans, for Cougs fans — from the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse to Coug Nation everywhere.

Our Mission

Built for Coug Nation

Cougs on the Couch exists because Washington State University fans deserve a podcast that actually holds itself accountable. Not a PR arm for the program. Not a national outlet parachuting in for a hot take. A show run by people who care as much as you do.

Connor and Dylan dig into the depth charts, the recruiting trail, the scheme, the coaching decisions — all the stuff that makes you stay up until midnight reading message boards. We do that work, then bring you along for it.

Football is our home, but Cougs on the Couch covers all of WSU athletics. Basketball. Baseball. Recruiting. Pac-12 conference news. If it matters to Coug Nation, it's on the show.

Connor

The Couch GM

Connor's path to WSU wasn't about football — it was about family. His older brother was already attending Washington State University, and after visiting Pullman for Dad's Weekend a few times, Connor knew exactly where he wanted to go to school. He had played baseball growing up and was good enough that the community college route was a real option. He chose the four-year university experience instead. He knew baseball wasn't going to pay the bills.

Connor graduated from WSU Pullman in 2016 with a double major in finance and marketing — a degree that put him on the career path he's still on today as a full-time mortgage lender. About four and a half years ago, he launched The Couch GM, a sports media brand built on genuine fandom, real research, and zero spin. Cougs on the Couch grew out of that as a natural offshoot.

During his senior year at WSU in fall 2015, Connor and Dylan helped found the WSU Club Baseball team — a program that played its first season in spring 2016 and is still active on campus today. That shared history gives the show a chemistry you can't manufacture.

Away from football, Connor is a diehard Mariners fan — the kind who tracks pitch mix tendencies, launch angles, and bullpen sequencing. He follows baseball with the same obsessive detail he brings to the two-deep. One sport was never going to be enough.

Dylan Haugh

WSU Murrow College · Class of 2017

Dylan Haugh graduated from WSU's Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in 2017 — one year behind Connor. He's since settled in San Diego, but his ties to the Palouse run deep. The two go back to fall 2015 — Connor's senior year at WSU — when they teamed up to help found the WSU Club Baseball program. It played its first season in spring 2016 and is still active on campus today.

Cougs on the Couch started with Dylan. When the Pac-12 began its collapse — conference members bailing, WSU's future suddenly uncertain — Dylan was watching Connor build The Couch GM and saw an opportunity. He came to Connor with the pitch: carve out a dedicated WSU show inside the brand and give Coug fans a real home for honest conversation about their program. That pitch became this show.

Dylan brings the journalism background and the accountability on the mic. He'll challenge a take when it deserves it, and he'll push back when Connor's analytics need a reality check.
